Individual and Family Therapy
I specialize in helping people heal from trauma, and deal with anger, numbness, guilt, shame, low self esteem, addiction, fear, and loss. My approach leads to a deep, enduring, sense of resolution, peace, and fulfillment. I respect the unique qualities of each and every person. I listen with care to hear the meaning of what you are saying, and I will work with you to discover the healing path that is both successful and right for you.
In a process I call "allowing", hidden perspectives emerge, usually leading to astonishingly positive changes, in a very short time.
My approach is a form of somatic psychotherapy, where mind and body wisdom, together, are seen as essential to the therapeutic process. The mind, while an amazing tool, is only one aspect of our personal healing intelligence. As human beings, my experience is that we move toward healing and growth, spontaneously, given the opportunity to access both mind and body wisdom, in a safe, respectful and accepting environment.
Talk therapy can help address many issues that concern us. Often, however, our life circumstances, and the internalized sensations associated with past trauma, become too deeply rooted in our psyche to be accessed and healed by mind wisdom alone.
Depending on the needs of the person in treatment, therapeutic body techniques of: body awareness or mindfulness, breathing and gentle movement, can be highly effective as a supplement to more conventional approaches, to provide increased self-awareness, the resolution of psychological concerns, and positive changes in behavior.
This type of psychotherapy consistently delivers the kind of fulfillment and meaning that we most desire in life. And, the process brings with it, more and more joy, connection, creativity and enthusiasm.
